The Embankment School

Our curriculum is driven by the philosophy that children learn best by doing; hands-on experiences and activities help children internalize foundational skills and strategies for problem-solving. Currently, our First Grade and Kindergarteners are studying a unit on water. Through their studies, they have learned about the challenges that children and families around the world face accessing clean water. Our students focused on the children of Ghana and wanted to take action to help them have cleaner water. Our whole school will participate in The Walk for Water on June 11, 2021! We hope you can help us fund a project that will bring clean water to the Hlefi Community School!

The Emery/Weiner School

The 7th graders at Emery/Weiner are so excited to participate in this project with H2O For Life! We are currently learning about Ancient Civilizations, and learning about access to clean water ties in very well while learning about the development of agriculture and the River Valley Civilizations. Additionally, this project will allow us to learn more about what life is like for people in other parts of the world. We are quite fortunate living here in Houston, so it's wonderful to be able to help out those who don't have as much as we do and to appreciate what we have. We can't wait to get started!

The Gift of Water

For hosting our wedding and your generous gift, we would like to honor you with a donation in your name. This donation will complete a well at the Pakeyo Health Center in Tobi, Uganda, which treats more than 50 patients per day and does not have a source of running water. This donation will prevent staff members from having to walk a long way to a well that only lasts a few hours before it runs out, at which time the patients have to fetch their own water because staff members are too busy treating patients. Now, patients will have water to drink, use with medications, and wash their hands.

The Giolas Foundation

The Giolas Foundation is a Christ Centered charity that is dedicated to helping the less fortunate. We serve with the compassion of Christ, Love, Faith and the Word of the Gospel, acknowledging that each day is a blessing.

The Haverford School

The service learning program at The Haverford School, in Haverford, PA (USA) is designed to put into action our belief that, through service to others, we can know ourselves better and make a difference in the world. We offer an extensive co-curricular volunteer program, where students have opportunities to use their talents and interests in offering valuable service to others. Volunteering in a global service project such as H2O For Life offers our faculty, staff, and students, as well as their families and the larger community, the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Participating in the Walk for Water provides the second grade boys an opportunity to develop empathy for their global peers while carrying 2 gallons of water for 3 to 5 miles, to emulate what children in remote villages do on a daily basis to obtain clean potable drinking water. Haverford grade 2 boys work in tandem with our Upper School Service Learning Core to raise awareness about the plight for clean water as well as funds to build a well or latrines for primary school children like themselves. This is our fifteenth anniversary of entering into partnership with H2O for life to provide access to clean water to remote villages and schools in Africa. Our service learning project with H2O For Life provides an opportunity for our second grade students to leave a global footprint in service to others.

The Joseph Sears School Student A...

The Joseph Sears School is a K-8 public school in the Chicago suburbs. This student-led Student Advisory Board chose H20 for Life as their service project. The students feel that the world water shortage is an important problem which demands increased attention and education. The students feel very privileged to have water at their fingertips and hope to raise awareness and funds for this important cause.

The King's Academy

We are a private school in Missouri. Our middle school class recently learned of the water shortage in Africa and we have been reading A Long Walk to Water. We decided that we wanted to raise money for a school in Africa.

The Langdon Family Project

The Langdon family spent a decade of summers in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, with the Hall family, sharing outdoor activities like swimming, boating, skiing, sailing, hiking, floating in tubes, grilling hamburgers and fresh Minnesota corn, and trips into town to the market, shops, and Cup ‘N Cone, and indoor activities like family and neighborhood dinners and games. The three Langdon girls and the two Hall boys and one girl – along with many Hall cousins – became one big family over the years – and now the Langdon family would like to help other children have a better life through the Halls’ wonderful organization. H2O For Life!

The Military and Global Leadershi...

The Millitary and Global Leadership Academy is a small k-12 school located in Charlotte NC. We are studying the impact of water int he world today through our leadership courses. Additionally students will complete a science fair project on water conservation. We are looking forward to this service project

The Newcomer Center

The Newcomer Center is a transitional high school program for newly arrived immigrants and refugees in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. We provide support for students that are not only new to the US, but also have pre-beginning/beginning levels of English.

Our sixth grade students have just finished reading A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park. They were inspired by Salva's and Nya's stories and were moved to find out how they could help to build more wells.
