Abington Junior High - The Fabulo...
This is the Abington Junior High School Destination Imagination team and we have chosen to help the Kyshero Secondary & Vocational School raise funds to install a tap for a piped spring-fed gravity water system to provide sufficient water all year for drinking, cooking and hand washing at this school and the local community. As a team, we have chosen to do a service project for the Destination Imagination competition with the Project Outreach Challenge. By selecting H2O as our community partner for this project, the need for water and their purpose will be spread globally.
Abington Senior High School
Our club is dedicated to providing clean water to the world population one step at a time. We believe in a world where access to clean water is a possibility for everyone, and we hope to achieve that through annual fundraisers. We hope to make clean water a reality for everyone.
Carver Engineering and Science
Every day, one billion people make a three hour journey to gather water! There is a water crisis throughout the world that is creating economic, social, educational and, worst of all, life threatening conditions. We can help change that statistic for our partner school. We have the opportunity to provide a transformational service-learning opportunity for our students through H2O for Life. Our students will study issues surrounding the global water crisis, learn about their partner school and country, and will plan and implement activities that raise funds to help bring water and sanitation to our partner school. We want our students to know that by working together, we can make a difference in the world! We hope that all students in our school will benefit from our partnership with H2O for Life. Students will be challenged to think about their own habits concerning water usage, and will develop awareness of the enormity of the issues surrounding water in our world. We hope our school will be committed to make this project for our partner school a reality.
Charles F Patton Middle School
At Charles F Patton Middle School, 8th Graders who study Geography learn about the critical value of water, as not only an important natural resource, but as vital to country development. Many students read "A Long Walk to Water", by Linda Sue Park, and felt compelled to do something. As a number of students said, "It is not OK that kids around the world don't have clean water." There was a palpable sense of urgency and commitment to raise awareness within our community about the global water crisis, and to raise money to fund the building of a well.
Cheltenham High School
The CHS (Cheltenham High School) Key Club wants to participate in H2O For Life to create a happier, safer, and more enjoyable environment for the students at the SHESHO Elementary school. Our goal is not only to raise $1,000 for this school but to give the students a better opportunity to grow and succeed and to show students world-wide how far a helping hand can go and to encourage young adults to get involved in giving back!
Germantown Friends School
We work within our school and local community to help raise awareness about water issues both locally and internationally.
Girl Scout Troop 7216
Our troop has been learning about water this year. We've been learning about conserving water, keeping it clean, and educating ourselves on the worldwide water crisis. It's now time for us to give back and this is a project we choose to help our world in our own small way.
Highland Middle School
Highland Middle School students have voted to raise $1500.00 or more for a school in the Dominican Republic. Our school decided to follow the Because I said I would.......theme and make our promise to help others in another country. We are proud to be making a difference in the lives of others through a service learning project. We will be doing a variety of activities to raise money for this project. We have started by collecting rainwater in gallon-size jugs to be used in our H2O water Walk. We had our kick-off and sold popsicles to our students which brought in our first money. We will be having competitions through-out the year to raise money. Our staff and students will be purchasing the H2O t-shirts in the near future. We are doing this....because we said we would!
Lankenau High School
Our group believes that water is an important resource for life and the building block of human existence. To us everyone needs potable water. This is a resource that does not need to be fought over. Hygiene is also an important issue as not washing leads to general disease an unhealthiness. I believe our fund raising endeavors can contribute to project.
