Philadelphia Chapter of the Links...

The Philadelphia Chapter of the Links, Incorporated - International Trends & Services Facet's goal is provide a service-learning opportunity for our partner, Girls, Inc. of Greater Philadelphia & Southern New Jersey. We have partnered with the Eureka Girls and the 8th grade Cohort to raise awareness about the global water crisis while taking action to provide funds for a water, sanitation, and hygiene education project for a partner school in the developing world, specifically Africa. The Omega Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated are packed, polished, and prepared to plan, implement and execute our sorority’s Programs of Service using the guidelines of the Sorority’s International Programs of Service per the vision of our International Supreme Basileus (President), Danette Anthony Reed. The 2022-2026 program theme – “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood”—includes six (6) target areas.

Pilot Elementary

As parents, we would like for our children, our school, its students, and the community to know more about the water crisis around the world, so that they can appreciate more about how something just as simple as having clean water at home, and the lack thereof, can have such a devastating outcome in other parts of the world. We want to give them the opportunity to make a difference, to give back, and to appreciate the simplest things in life, such as having clean water to bathe, wash, drink, and cook our daily meals...If we start to open up our children's eyes and hearts to what is going on around them, their communities, and around the world, we know that, not only will they appreciate what they have, what is given to them, but also recognize that what they don't have (toys, cell phones, cars, etc) may not be as bad as they think, if they start to put things into perspectives.

Pinckneyville Middle School

Pinckneyville Middle School 7th grade students are participating in a interdisciplinary unit based on the theme of water and we are interested in action arising from our learning. We want to help!

Pine City Jr/Sr High School

The 8th grade class has been studying the global water crisis. We have read "A Long Walk to Water", completed two water labs with multiple forms of research and we are now working on a Walk For Water.

Pinecrest Academy of Northern NV

Pinecrest Academy is a charter school in Northern Nevada. As we read "A Long Walk to Water" with our students, we wanted to incorporate a service learning project. Our 5th grade students are helping to drive our fundraiser as they learn valuable skills along with the knowledge that they have the power to change the world.

Pine Crest School

By running a weekly tournament in various board games such as chess, checkers, backgammon, etc in my school community, this project aims to fundraise to provide biosand filters that provide clean water and sanitation stations and programs raising awareness on clean water and sanitation to the school community. The project will do so by requiring a $10 buy in to play, incentivized by prizes such as a $25-$50 gift card to a site/company chosen by the winner or a $25-$50 donation to a charity of the winner’s choice, and donating all proceeds to the Jhariya Gagadi School in India.
