Walden Elementary School

I am trying to teach my first graders the value of giving to others. I want them to be aware of the fact that they are part of a global community outside of the school. Hopefully, my students will begin to show empathy and caring for those less fortunate than themselves.

Walnut Bottom Youth

Small country church located in rural Western Maryland

Walnut Creek Middle School

Walnut Creek 6th graders collaborated each quarter on a service learning project. Students read the book, A Long Walk for Water, as well as conducting water testing labs, students were shocked by the issues of water pollution and water scarcity on our planet and even in our own country. As a result, we chose to help a Navajo Nation in the United States. Students brainstormed ways to bring awareness and generate funds to help. Ultimately, this project was a perfect fit because it encouraged students to problem solve and think globally.

Warren Elementary School

Katie Spotz, visited Warren Elementary School in Bowling Green, Kentucky on her five city tour. Students and staff have created a unique way to gather funds to support a school in need through H2O for Life’s school partnership program. Katie’s story focuses on her “Row for Water”, as the youngest person to row across the Atlantic Ocean. To remind students of the need for clean water, and to remind them of Katie’s story about how ONE person can make a difference, Warren Elementary isn’t using typical containers to collect funds. They have a kayak in their hallway, and hope to fill the kayak with coins, and dollar bills to raise funds that will provide clean water for a school in need.

Warren Park Elementary School

Warren Park is dedicated to working in partnership with students, families and community to build an academic foundation by providing differentiated instruction for all students. Warren Park aspires to be a nurturing environment where students, parents and staff collaboratively work to provide a quality education. Warren Park is devoted to providing a range of instruction for diverse learners and inspiring a passion for lifelong learning.

Washington High School

We are excited to bring water to this school because everyone deserves clean, safe water! We are looking forward to working with Rotary, too, and improving the lives of these children!

Washington High School Interact Club

Washington Middle School

Our Advisory Group would like to participate in this project for the following reasons: * so we can help students have what they need for sanitation. * to give others the things we have. * knowing that we are able to help others. * for the good feeling you get when you know you have made a contribution.

Washington Primary School

Washington Primary is located in Washington Depot, Connecticut. Though we are a small school we have BIG HEARTS and a BIG LOVE of parkour, ninja warrior, and H2O for Life! Over the last three years we have improved the water and sanitation systems of 2 schools in Africa and look forward to helping the students of EZ Kabane. We are inspired by the words of Melody Beattie who wrote, “Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates vision for tomorrow.” After each of our successful fundraisers we are thankful that Know Obstacles and The Movement Creative come to our school on the day of our Water Runs and hold a parkour and obstacle course workshop. Our goal is to raise $4,000 for EZ Kabane High School: EZ Kabane is a high school of more than 500 fun, active, and ambitious students operating out of an abandoned school building in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. On top of educating the students, the understaffed administration and teachers must deal with a crumbling infrastructure and the fact that the entire school has only one toilet with dysfunctional flushing capabilities and just one source of drinking water—an outdoor spicket. If we can help the community repair all flushing toilets, construct additional water taps, build a water tank, replace toilet seats and provide doors to bathroom stalls, the principal and teachers of EZ Kabane can concentrate on what they do best…educating children!

Watchung Hills Regional High School

Watchung Hills has supported H2O For Life for over four years. Within that time, students at Watchung Hills have been educated about the water crisis, have become global citizens, and have learned the importance of international humanitarian efforts. As a result of H2O for Life, the communities within our district have become educated and are much more involved in our efforts. We recognize that every dollar can make a difference, and that we can make a change in our world for the better.
