The students at Bluff Creek Elementary made a significant impact on the lives of others last year. This short video highlights the different components of their project and the impact they made in communities in Uganda and Ghana last year. We are excited to join them and the SPARK! Matoska Water Warriors Are Back!

At Matoska International, the students are eager to change the world for the better by providing access to clean water and sanitation to those who need it. The Water Warriors is an extracurricular group for students who are leading their school’s H2O for Life project. Students apply by writing an essay about why they want to become “Water Warriors.” Many of the students wrote in their essays about how they really enjoyed participating in Matoska’s past Walks for Water and how they are excited to be leaders this school year as fifth graders! San Nicolás Latrines

The new latrines at San Nicolás have been successfully completed! We believe all people deserve clean water, safe sanitation, and the knowledge to sustain it for future generations. Our implementing partner, El Porvenir, partners with the people of Nicaragua so that they can build a better future for themselves through the sustainable development of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) education projects. Immaculate Conception Students Complete 5K Walk for Water

Immaculate Conception Junior High School, OH students planned a Walk for Water to raise money to help two schools in Ghana that are in need of clean water. NUMA System for Kankalay Students

Founded in 1982, Kankalay Islamic School is an infant, primary, and secondary school in Sierra Leone. This WASH intervention at Kankalay was recently completed and is currently serving a total of 1,800 students with safe water access. The school originally had a hand-dug well on site that was dispensing contaminated water, contributing to illness in the community. To replace that, our implementing partner, Water4, installed their NUMA piped water system. Buyubu Borehole

Buyubu Primary School is located in the Iganga District of Uganda. The school has a current enrollment of 711 students (343 girls and 368 boys). Buyubu Primary did not have its own water source, so the students were made to fetch water, multiple times per day, from a community well located at a local trading center 1 km away. The school’s headteacher hired a laborer to fetch water for the school, which worked for a while, but it turned out to be unsustainable as the school soon ran out of money. Sky Standard Project Complete

The new rainwater collection system at Sky Standard Nursery and Primary School in Uganda has been successfully completed! Our implementing partner, Ugandan Water Project, erected a 10,000-liter polyethylene tank on a base made of brick, hardcore, and cement. Once cured, the crew placed the tank on the base, made an overflow hole in the top of the structure and attached a pipe to it that extends six inches beyond the perimeter of the base. Thank you for trusting H2O for Life and Drink Local Drink Tap, our implementing partner, with your generous donation to help the people of Kasozi (Kah-Soe-Zee) Primary School in Nakasongola (Na-ka-sone-go-la), Uganda. You’ve directly impacted the lives of 509 children, teachers, and all who come after them. You did this by funding three 10,000-liter rainwater harvesting tanks with tap stands and classroom water filters that will reliably serve this community.
