The #MilesforWaterChallenge was started by @h2oforlife, our sister organization and a nonprofit offering service-learning opportunities designed to engage, educate, and inspire youth to take action to solve the global water crisis.

Nearly 1 billion people in the developing world walk on average 3.5 miles a day to get water to drink. By taking part in the #MilesforWaterChallenge, you are helping H2O for Life raise awareness for the world water crisis, and funds for their WASH projects across the world.

Here’s how to do it:
Walk, run, bike, or swim 3.5 miles without a sip of water
OR
Donate to H2O for Life to support their work to provide access to clean water
AND
Challenge others in your network to participate!

As New Yorkers, we sure know how to walk. Therefore, there was no better place for us to take the challenge than our own neighborhood. We walked the 3.5 miles around Inwood, through Inwood Hill Park, and finally finished on the 215th Street Steps.

We’ve challenged some friends and family privately, but we also challenge YOU to take part or donate to @h2oforlife today!
