Celebrate World Water Day By Becoming a Water Guardian!

Posted by Nick Coughlin on March 19, 2021

World Water Day is Monday, March 22, 2021. No matter where you live in the world, from Minnesota to Mumbai, water plays a vital role in the health and well being of your community.

The Water Guardians program takes students on a journey down the vital and vibrant Mississippi River from its headwaters to the Gulf of Mexico, teaching students about local and global water issues. Designed for grades 5-8, this free web-based set of 5 lesson plans brings discussions of global citizenship, service, and the global water crisis into your classrooms, whether virtual or in-person.

We’re thrilled with the positive response we have received since launching this program. One teacher in Minnesota shared the following with us:

“I just wanted to let you know that all of my classes found the videos fun, and they have led to a lot of wonderful discussions about how our actions can affect so much more in the world than we think about on the surface.”
Beth P., Teacher
