Thousands of inspired students

Posted by Steve Hall on December 11, 2013

During the week of December 2-6, Inspirational speaker Katie Spotz visited 10 schools in the Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area at the invitation of H2O for Life.  Katie has completed several extreme events while raising funds to support clean water.  She is the youngest person to row solo across an ocean, has run across 2 deserts, and swam the length of the Alleghany River.  She has now turned her focus towards speaking to youth, inspiring them to make a difference.

Testimonials:

From a teacher: “I learned today that one person can truly make a difference.  I can only imagine the many people you will continue to inspire.”

Ari- 10 years old:  “You inspired me to make the world a better place and encouraged me to challenge myself more.” (Through H2O for Life)  I have now been helping schools in need for 4 years.  It feels great to know I helped someone.”

Savannah- grade 4: “I was truly inspired by your journey and I thought to myself, what can I do to change the world?”  You gave me an idea.  Stay tunedJ

During the course of the week, Katie spoke to almost 4000 students and inspired them to think about how they could take action and provide clean water to schools. Katie ended her speech by saying:  “I was a 22 year old girl, I put my oars in the water and I rowed.  What are you going to do?

So our question to you- What will you do to make a difference?

Diamond Path Elementary School students wrote letters thanking Katie for visiting and inspiring them.  Here are a few samples.
