The Haverford Walk for Water

Posted by Steve Hall on July 12, 2022

“On April 22nd, the second graders completed the annual Walk for Water service-learning project, done in partnership with H2O for Life, as part of their study of the continent of Africa. The project focuses on raising awareness about the global water crisis, conserving water, and helping build wells benefitting partner schools in Africa. We are so proud of our second-grade boys as they carried two-gallon jugs of water three miles (13 laps) around the track today as a means of simulating the hardship that many children in Africa endure in order to access clean water. Way to go, boys!”

The Haverford students raised over $9,400 to support a water and sanitation project at Akome Gbota School in Ghana.
