Varsity Lakes Virtual Walk for Water

Posted by Mitchell LeGrand on June 3, 2020

Even during a pandemic, schools have been finding ways to participate virtually with service-learning projects. One school that we would like to highlight today is Varsity Lakes. They have partnered with H2O for Life since 2018, raising more than $14,000 for 4 separate schools in Kenya and Tanzania. This year was no different! Students at Varsity Lakes set a goal to raise funds for the Nanganda Primary School in Kenya this year. Despite their school switching from in-person classes to socially distanced online classes, they still found a way to help others!  Varsity students raised $1,756.83 by hosting a Virtual Walk for Water instead of an in-person walk. We admire their student’s resilience, perseverance, and dedication to helping others even when the world around them has presented them with challenges! Keep up the great work Varsity Lakes! Thanks for your help and for being an inspiration!
