Thank you for bringing water to Wampewo

Thank you Henderson Hammock Charter School, FL for bringing safe water to Wampewo Primary School, Wampewo, Uganda

Project Details:
Beginning with the replacement of the well’s entire in-ground and above-ground structure using high-quality steel and rubber, Ugandan Water Project (our implementing partner) performed a full rehabilitation of the borehole well to restore it to working order and extend its life expectancy. After its parts were replaced, the well had compressed air forced through it so that any remaining silt was blown out and removed from the system. Additionally, UWP’s team erected an elevated platform and run-off channel around the well’s pump and built a wooden fence around the whole structure in order to secure the borehole well and prevent contamination of its water. The project was concluded with UWP’s team conducting a training for school staff and key community members that included lessons on how to properly use and maintain the well, in addition to lessons on good hygiene and sanitation practices.

Check out your impact!
– You brought clean water to 3,500 people
– You rehabilitated a borehole that was partially functional, but needed significant repairs
– You rehabilitated a borehole that was 152 feet deep
– You replaced a dysfunctional Borehole or tubewell with a functional Borehole
