Lesson Plan of the Day: The Water Princess (K-2)

Posted by Nick Coughlin on May 5, 2020

With the world moving towards distance learning and parents having to take on more responsibility in their childrens’ education, we at H2O for Life decided that it was time to revisit some of our more popular lesson plans and make them more accessible for everyone to use.

During the next few weeks we’ll be releasing free lesson plans to download and use at home. There’s nothing saying you can’t also use these in the classroom as well once things return to normal! Keep an eye on our blog, as we will publish new lesson plans periodically.

The Water Princess (Grades K – 2)

The Water Princess is a children’s picture book that highlights the reality of the water shortages that occur in certain parts of the African continent. The story is inspired by the childhood of activist and model Georgie Badiel. It follows a young girl who dreams of bringing clean water to the people in her village. The illustrations are just as captivating as the message of the story. This lesson plan is easy to follow and includes links to the book online for those who don’t have a physical copy!
