Well drilled in South Sudan

Posted by Steve Hall on August 5, 2019

We are pleased to report that our implementing partner, Water for South Sudan, has drilled one of the wells H2O for Life schools sponsored. They have now drilled over 390 wells since 2005 and are deeply grateful for our support!

WFSS will continue to provide access to clean water and hygiene education, led by their South Sudan team. Although parts of South Sudan continue to experience unrest, they have been able to continue drilling wells safely. Their work continues to provide grassroots development and sustainability for rural villages and schools. The installation of a new well can also serve as a starting point for conflict resolution between different groups, bringing peace and stability.

This new well is in the village of Rumbek Jadit in Wau South, Wau, South Sudan. The village chief is Bol Isaac Madong. GPS coordinates of this well are N: 07′ 40′ 565″ E: 028′ 00′ 638″.

Thank you for your support and generosity, which is now helping to provide fresh, clean water, and a new future, to the people at the Sunday Primary School, South Sudan! The following schools in the US raised the funds for this well.

– Academy of the Sacred Heart, LA
– Bank Street School for Children, NY
– Oltman Middle School, MN
