Our school was established in 2014 following the public demand for a secondary school, mainly considering the plight of the girl child who used to walk too long distances (20km to and from the nearby school) crossing River Munyaga, facing hardships including sexual abuse, starvation, walking under rain and many hazards.  (It is historically known that these hazards caused a withdrawal of the first school in Kyeshero in 1945 because the River Munyaga threatened the life of the Education Missionary, Ms. Hornby, when her shoe got lost in the flooded river).

Our school is situated in a hard to reach area near the border of Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo.  It is an individual school teaching Vocational subjects such as Clothing and Textile, Carpentry and Joinery, Electrical Installation and Computer studies, in line with the government policy of skilling Uganda, in addition to non-vocational subjects.

When this school was introduced it brought relief to both parents and children. Children stay at their nearby homes and are comfortably studying from near-by.

The catchment area of this Vocational secondary school has eight Primary schools with most of the pupils coming from very poor families. Although parents are willing to educate their children, poverty makes a big number of children drop out of school before completing Senior Four.

Our school uniform is red trousers and skirts for boys and girls respectively and white short sleeved shirts for all students.

Our school is lucky to be among the schools supported by Omushana organisation and this has led to its improvement in terms of constructing classrooms, girls’ toilet, and class support program for S 4, sports through providing sports ware, and scholastic materials among others.

Our priority now is to be registered as an examination centre so that students can sit for their exams at the school without being transported and disrupted at the time of their exams so we have one serious issue so as to achieve this goal. This is none other than completing the Main Hall.

All about Senior 4
Hi! we are Senior four students, the top class in our school. Our class is comprised of 18 boys and 22 girls all totaling 40 students. Our teachers love us and teach us very well and we were lucky to be undertaken by Omushana organisation for its programme of class support. Without this support some of us would not be studying and therefore long live Gillian Castle, Long live Omushana and Long live Trustees!

All about Senior 3
Hi, we are senior 3 class at Kyeshero Community Vocational Secondary School. This is the class where we choose subjects to continue studying; out of 18 subjects studied at our school.  After reaching senior 3 we select 10 subjects only. Our class performed best in the inter-class foot ball competition last year and we are always advised by our class teacher to love education because it’s the key to success.

All about Senior 2
Senior 2 class has 45 students; 23 girls and 22 boys. We are always taught to love one another, to be merciful, be kind and help one another when we are at school and even in our homes. We love our teacher Ahereza Elison who teaches us Math and Physics very well which encourages logical thinking and reasoning and helps in problem solving especially in our daily lives. We kindly wish you a happy stay over there and we pray that may the good Lord continue blessing the work of your hands. We are lucky we always visit the Omushana library at Buhoma Community Primary school. This has helped us to love and like reading and has improved the reading culture as well as the communication skill in our school.

All about Senior 1
Hi we are senior one class, the lowest class in our school. Whenever pupils complete the primary level, they join the secondary level in our country Uganda. For our case we chose to join Kyeshero Community Vocational Secondary School. Our class is comprised of 22 girls and 34 boys totaling 56 students. As a class we love our class teacher Kakuru Appolo who teaches Kiswahili Language and he always tell us to like one another, share together, be merciful and helpful to friends and to work hard for success in future. We also like playing football for boys and girls, netball, and volley ball for both boys and girls.

Clubs and co-curricular at Kyeshero
Our school also is active in different clubs and we participate in these clubs when we are free especially during weekends and after class lessons. During weekends we come at school to participate in these clubs

Football Club for both girls and boys
This is also one of the most active clubs in our school. Our school participated in a football competition last year and managed to win all the games defeating five schools in the sub-county. We have one team kit for footballers (boys) and one team kit for netballers. We therefore take this great honour to thank the Omushana and team for donating these sports wears.

Volleyball Club
Our school is also performing well in volleyball in the whole of our community. We therefore take this great chance to say thanks to Omushana through Madam Gillian Castle for donating sportswear to our school which are being used in football, netball, volleyball.

Red Cross Club
Our school is leading in having most active students participating in different clubs. In this club we try to visit different schools especially those school neighbouring us. Most of these schools are primary schools. Here we advise pupils to love one another and teach them different ways of giving first aid to those who get accidents in the community.

We also enjoy science, singing and playing!
