Welcome! I created this page to raise funds to build clean water systems in Kenya, Sierra Leone, and Ghana. I am part of the Water Warriors club at Westridge, which is dedicated to helping students stay in schools and raising awareness about problems of water scarcity, unclean water, and distant water sources.
There is an urgent need for implementation of safe water, sanitation and hygiene education projects (WASH in Schools) for schools around the world. The addition of WASH facilities improves the health and learning performance of students by reducing the incidence of water and sanitation related diseases. Student attendance and time in class also increases when facilities are available on school grounds.
During this school year, there will be two fundraisers.
Our walk with water just happened! It was empowering, and I am looking forward to our other fundraisers even more. We walked 3 miles at the Rose Bowl with a gallon of water each to simulate what it is like for girls and women to walk and collect polluted water throughout the developing world.
The second fundraiser will be an annual fair that will take place in the spring, probably late April or May. Some booths we've had in the past are: arts-n-crafts booths, makeup and hair booths, henna and face painting, games galore, food and drink booths, and so much more! We will also have a large-scale raffle.
Please donate to my fundraiser. Anything you can give is a huge help!
