Located in the rural, cattle-keeping corridor of Nakasongola District in Central Uganda, Lwabiyata Secondary School serves a region where many children drop out before completing 5th grade due to unmet basic needs like water, sanitation, and hygiene.
Since our implementing partner, Drink Local Drink Tap, installed a piped rainwater collection system in 2018, the secondary school’s growing population has increased the need for additional water storage capacity.
This clean water system expansion project will add 20,000 liters of storage to support the school's growing needs, especially for boarding students who live on campus because of long travel distances. Expanded access to clean water will keep students healthy, improve attendance, and unlock future opportunities.
