Nawangisa Primary School

Uganda 681 beneficiaries Iganga
Nawangisa Primary School is located in the village of Mwendanfuko, sub-county Nabitende, in the Iganga District of Uganda. The current school enrollment is 323 girls and 358 boys.
The school has no clean water, a situation that leaves them with two options - neither of which is ideal. The first is a community borehole, and the second is a local swamp. The head teacher went to the local community to ask if her students could use the well. While the community agreed, this situation is far from ideal. The community near the well is large ,which means the students end up standing in long lines waiting for water. The teachers are frustrated that their students spend so much time fetching water and wish the school had its own water source.
Project Proposal: New Borehole Well
Our implementing partner, Drop in the Bucket, will drill a well that will provide safe water on the school grounds.
