Rawelgue Project Relocated
April 27, 2026

On May 14 2025, our implementing partner, The Georgie Badiel Foundation, completed the installation of the drilling equipment, and drilling began the following day, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Unfortunately, the borehole resulted in a negative outcome—we were unable to find water at the site. The team drilled to a depth of 60 meters, encountering an alteration zone but no viable water source. They faced multiple challenges during the process, including:
- Landslides (mud) that obstructed progress
- The loss of nine DN200 PVC temporary casings due to unstable ground conditions (sticky mud)
- A sudden torrential downpour that further complicated operations and delayed the team’s return to base
It was decided to allocate the funds to an alternate school in need of a WASH intervention. Here is a first look at the successful drilling operation! More details coming soon as the project is completed!
