Rain Barrels
Learning Targets:
- I will understand how some people around the world gather water by observing water collected in a rain barrel at my school.
Procedure:
- The teacher should find/create a rain barrel for the class to use.
- Have the class research Rain Barrels and understand the purpose of them. Use note taking sheet attached to complete research.
- As a class decide the best location to place the Rain Barrel and devote time every week to monitor the progress of the Rain Barrel.
- Once your designated observation time is over discuss the pros and cons of rain barrels and how they might benefit an area that is short of water resources.
