Investigate water in the world and what percentage of the water is drinkable.
Using formulas for surface area and volume students identify the amount of rain water that can be caught in a rainwater catchment tank. With their background knowledge they will engage in the engineering process to design a rainwater catchment tank.
The aim of this activity is to encourage students to think about the amount of water they use every day, and to develop conservation habits.
