On Saturday we met our project goal/pledge of $3,300 via our partnership w/ H2O for Life and will be able to continue bringing clean water to these kids (our friends) the children of St. Luke's Primary School in The Nembe Kingdom, Bayelsa State, Nigeria! Our commitment will cover the following: Each classroom will receive filters for clean drinking water. Currently the school has toilets that are non-operational and will be rebuilt. This will include separate toilets for boys, girls, and teachers. Students and the community will receive hygiene education training focusing on the need to wash hands, use soap and keep facilities clean. Private Menstrual changing facilities will also be provided (so girls can return to school). As part of the implementation, student hygiene committees will be formed to keep facilities clean, and community committees will be formed for ongoing maintenance. CONGRATS St. Luke's, HCS & our Ubuntu kids! GREAT WORK!
