The school has a shallow well and an old non functioning ferrocement tank. The nearest permanent source of water is a dam that is about 2km from the school. The water quality is fair although it is affected by dust during the dry season. It takes the pupils about 1 hour to fetch water
from the shallow well during break time and after classes, which interferes with the learning program. Pupils carry water from home during the dry spells to clean their classes and latrines.

Regarding sanitation, the school has 10 toilets for boys, 16 toilets for girls and 5 for teachers. However, these facilities are in poor condition and as a result, cases of stomachaches and amoeba are very common due to inadequate quality & quantity of drinking water, especially during the dry spells. The school experiences at least 2 cases of water borne related diseases per day and so far about 50 pupils have been affected.
