EE Week Partner Spotlight
H2O for Life
H2O for Life provides global partnerships that transform lives
abroad and in the classroom. Currently 115 schools in the United
States are working to provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene
education for schools in need. H2O for Life provides resources
that educate students about the global water crisis and provides
classroom activities that engage students in a meaningful service-learning
project. During EE Week, many H2O for Life schools, including Centennial
Middle School in Minnesota, will host "Walks for Water." They
hope to raise $10,000 to bring water, toilets and hand-washing
stations to schools in Bolivia, Nicaragua and Bangladesh. Valentine
Hills Elementary School, in Arden Hills Minn. will sell H2O for
Life wristbands as part of a fund-raising activity to bring clean
water to Mahwa School in Uganda. Students will study global water
issues and participate in activities to raise awareness about water
in their community. Abington High School in Penn. is raising funds
to bring clean water to a school in India. Learn

A Day in the Life of a Drop
A Day in the Life of a Drop is a set of activities developed by
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to help students understand
the connections between the source of the water they use and the
ways their water use habits affect the environment and human health.
Students also learn how to reduce water use and engage family members.
After completing the worksheets provided on the website, students
and families take the Pledge to Filter Out Bad Water Habits to
demonstrate a commitment to saving water for the future. Learn
