School children need clean drinking water, sanitation facilities and
hygiene education to be able to learn. Yet half of the world’s schools
lack safe water and Wallenpaupack Area School students can help!

Every day, millions of people, especially young girls and women, spend their day walking to fetch water. On average, they carry 40 pounds of water (5 gallons) for nearly six hours, walking over three miles. We will be walking 3 mi...les along our cross counrty course at the high school, which will allow our students and our community to experience what that might feel like for one day!

If you plan on participating in our Walk for Water, you will need to get a registration form and a sponser sheet from me. You may walk as an individual or a team. Each person provides three plastic 2 liter soft drink bottles.

The teachers and students will start at 1:00pm. The community walk starts at 3:00pm. Students can choose to walk at school or after school with family. There are NO late busses that run that day, so students will have to find a ride home.

This walk is for all ages, and participants will receive a commemorative walk t-shirt. Remember to choose the size and color!

Fees:
$5 for children 5 and under, $20 for everyone else-due May 20th.

Proceeds from the walk will help to provide a well for the Nationale Antenor Firmin School in Haiti.

We appreciate your support!

Thank you,

Hi Patty1
OH, I can just see you flinching as the cars zoomed by way too close.
The picture of the lady with the bananas on her head, I'm sure she at one time had a very long neck. God Bless her. Could you find out what they use between their head and the basket of bananas? Is it a disk or just a piece of cloth twisted and formed in a circle atop her head? Every time I see a picture like that, I wonder what that is.
Have a great time and thanks for keeping us informed on your progress.
Love, Heidi
