St. Cletus School, LA

A recent email from St. Cletus School in Gretna, LA. St. Cletus is raising funds to bring WASH to Gakeu Primary in Kenya.

Dear Mr. Hall,
I hope this finds you well! I just wanted to share our success story here at St. Cletus school in Gretna, LA with you. We dedicated last week to raising money for the well at Gakeu School and we had a lot of success. We sold droplets of water for $1 each and the class with the most water droplets got a pizza party. At the end of the week we did a Walk for Water. One hundred fifty of our middle school students, 6th-8th Grade, walked around the school grounds with buckets of water so that we could better understand what the students in Gakeu go through each day. We mapped out a one mile loop around our school campus and the students walked the loop three times each in groups of 5 or 6. Last week alone our school raised $3,400 for the Gakeu well. We are halfway to our goal of $6,830!

I have attached some pictures of our walk. Also attached is a mural two of our students painted to raise awareness about our project. It is hanging up in the hallway of our school. Surrounding the mural are water droplets where each student wrote about why raising money with H20 is important to them!
We are so excited about this project!
