Bringing Water to Schools!
Cargill employees and H2O for Life are collaborating on an educational service learning opportunity that will save and change lives for students around the world! Please join us in this initiative.

• Every 20 seconds a child dies from water related disease.
• Close to 1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water.
• More than 2 billion people lack access to an adequate latrine.
• Women and girls typically spend 3 or more hours each day collecting water.
• Without access to a latrine, girls often stop attending school once they reach puberty.
• Water-related diseases are the global leading cause of death for children under the age of 5.

Our mission is two-fold:

• We provide resources for teachers and youth groups to educate students about the global water crisis. Lessons include local action as well as global action activities.
• We provide the opportunity for action that will raise funds to assist a school in a developing nation receive a WASH in Schools project. WASH in Schools is an initiative that is part of the Millennium Development Goals. The focus is to provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to schools in need around the world.

How can you get involved?
