How Can I Get Involved?
1- Learn more about the global water crisis.
2- Introduce H2O for Life to your local school.
- Print a copy of the fact sheet and read it to become familiar with H2O for Life.
- Make an appointment with the “go-to” person at your neighborhood school.
- *Begin with your child’s teacher. Ask if he/she might be the contact person, or if not, who he/she would suggest for an introduction to H2O for Life for participation in a transformational service learning opportunity!
- Arrange a meeting with the School Principal. The Principal, if not the contact person, will be able to direct you to the student council advisor or perhaps a service learning coordinator.
- If students are in middle school or high school, ask a student you know to identify a key teacher that makes things happen in the school. They know!
Once you have identified your contact person:
- Meet and present the one page fact sheet. Ask your contact person to take 2 minutes to watch: H2O for Life/Today Show
- Suggest a partnership with one of the schools listed on the H2O for Life website.
http://www.h2oforlifeschools.org/partnership-information/available-schools/public-schools/
Once you have made an initial connection, please email: shall@h2oforlifeschools.org
Provide school contact information, and H2O for Life will follow up with a personal email or phone call to the school to answer any further questions.
3- Plan an event at your facility and/or raise awareness about the global water crisis
- Show the H2O for Life Power Point
- Organize a Walk for Water
- Tap into tap water flyer
- Casual day for a fee – $5 donation to wear jeans, hats, or something fun for the day.
4. Make a donation for a school in need.
Thank you for taking the time and energy to follow these steps. Every school that participates with H2O for Life has the opportunity to change and save lives. The impact on the students in our U.S. schools and the impact of their actions can and will change the world.
