Success Story

Written by Chelsea Ishikawa and Sierra Maggard (7th grade)

Throughout the year we had a H20 for life club. We chose a school in Bingwa, Kenya to help. We raised money with several fundraisers. We held two roller skating nights and they were successful. Both nights we raised over $240. We also sold H20 shirts, not only to spread our cause, but to help make more money for our cause. We also started a coin drive in February. From that fundraiser alone we made about $280. To support our cause we sold concessions at basketball games. Our biggest fundraiser was our Walk For Water. We collected pledges and got donations from the community. It was a cold and wet day but we still raised $1,700. The fire department helped fill our buckets and a local army company kept count of our laps. Additionally, the student council donated some money to us because they thought our cause was so great. Throughout the year, we really enjoyed being part of this club. We learned a lot about helping others and being more selfless.
