Lakeview Elementary, Colonial Heights, Virginia finishes their walk for water!

Teacher Lisa Walker and her class walked over half a mile to a nearby river to collect water in gallon jugs. Two teachers in waders helped fill the containers. Students had the opportunity to experience what students in their partner school must do daily! The kids all agreed they were glad they didn’t have to drink the dirty water.

Ms. Walker’s class and Lakeview Elementary has been learning about the global water crisis, and raising funds for Navajoa Escuadron 201Elementary School in Mexico. They’ve sold t-shirts, candy grams, and held coin drives. So far they have raised $2686. But they aren’t done! Their goal is $3420 and they know they will get there. Their next event is “Nacho Night” in honor of their Mexican school.
